The Data Solutions Manager leads a multifunctional team of Business Data Analysts and Data Engineers, setting strategic directions, establishing priorities, and ensuring high quality delivery of data solutions across the organization. This role provides technical and people leadership to drive data management, data modernization, and data sharing initiatives across both on-Prem and cloud environments. The manager ensures that data is curated, engineered, governed, and delivered in ways that meet evolving business needs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Development - Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Business Data Analysts and Data Engineers; set direction, allocate resources, and cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • Accountability for Outcomes - Own team objectives, ensuring goals, processes, and delivery expectations are met consistently.
  • Data Extracts & Delivery - Oversee data curation, data pipelines, data extraction, and data sharing activities to ensure reliable, scalable, and timely delivery of data.
  • Policy & Process Ownership - Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows for the Data Solutions team.
  • Architecture Partnership - Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Data Architecture to guide solution design and implementation, including new data platforms, storage environments, and modernization initiatives.
  • Data Warehouse Collaboration - Partner with the Data Warehouse team to support knowledge transfer and serve as a subject matter expert in warehouse-related decisions.
  • Data Governance Alignment - Work closely with Data Governance team to ensure adherence to data policies, standards, and stewardship practices.
  • Strategic Influence - Influence internal leaders on processes, timelines, and guidelines; ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Relationship Building - Build and maintain strong relationships across departments, Data & Analytics, and Technology teams to understand strategic needs and deliver trusted data.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or computer-related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Additional years of qualifying experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience Requirements
  • 6+ years of managerial experience, leading technical or analytical teams.
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Management, including data analysis, data development, data sharing and governance.
  • 4-5 years of hands-on technical experience with SQL, ETL, and ELT development, Pipeline orchestration in SQL Server, Snowflake stack, Azure Data Factory, Azure blob storage.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Modeling, Data Warehouse and Analytics best practices.
  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake, and Azure technologies for data analysis and development.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills, including prioritization, negotiation and compromise.
  • Proven ability to manage demanding delivery timelines and competing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, inquiries, deadlines, and team coordination.
  • Experience creating automated data sharing frameworks.
  • Experience working with sensitive data (PII, PHI, confidential data) adhering to privacy and compliance policies.
  • Ability to lead teams in innovation and modern data management practices.
  • Ability to mentor and develop remote team members.
  • Strong ability to influence peers and leaders and build consensus in ambiguous environments.
  • Deep experience with Agile methodologies, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and code promotion through a structured change management process.

Preferred Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Experience with cloud-based data sharing and modern data exchange patterns.

Work-at-home requirements
  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

The target hiring range for this position is $143,708 - $181,800 USD. At G.E.H.A, the current maximum salary for this role is $202,577 USD. While initial compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications, there is a path to work toward this top rate through performance and continued growth within the organization.
