The following section outlines the job description for a Research and Analysis Associate Director. This section outlines the basic job requirements and responsibilities required to perform the role. This job description is the basis for recruiting new individuals into the organization.
Position Summary
Axxis, a leading provider of cloud-based solutions to address downstream petroleum process automation, is seeking a Research and Analysis Associate Director to be responsible for researching and normalizing data received from the Axxis Software customer base. This position resides within the Customer Support group.
The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills, show great attention to details, and have experience with Microsoft Excel and SQL. They should be self-motivated and possess great customer service skills, including strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You will report to the Axxis Director of Customer Support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research and Data Analysis
  • Normalize incoming data to Axxis data points
  • Perform data accuracy audits on a scheduled basis
  • Research and create new data points as industry changes require
  • Maintain records of industry changes for historical review and metrics
  • Verify incoming data has necessary elements for data capturing. Create elements mapping and output documentation
  • Keep Customer Support and Professional Services team members informed on industry changes that impact data output
  • Contact customer base, as well as fuel suppliers and distributors, when quality control questions arise
  • Participate in Data Governance team meetings, working closely with cross departmental teams
  • Create client license files to software access and audit daily receipt of client data
  • Provide exceptional customer support when communicating with and assisting customers. Ensure that high quality standards are maintained for all customer interactions and issue resolutions
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from clients within the pre-determined timeframe of our service level agreement

Team Management
  • Document, and track case histories, issues, and actionable steps taken
  • Obtain and maintain a fundamental understanding of our product features and functionality
  • Provide leadership and training to Source Information team as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Coach and mentor Source Information staff through challenging Industry changes.

Vendor Integration and Relationship Management
  • Manage and Maintain contact information for Major Industry Vendors.
  • Coordinate API discussions with Data vendors and communicate requirements to AXXIS Development teams.
  • Provide guidance for New and Existing Data Mappings for capture and cruncher requests.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Establishes own files; follows company policies and procedures; improves and maintains record keeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SQL and Outlook, with the ability to create basic queries, navigate applications and learn new systems easily
  • Responds promptly to client needs and solicits feedback to improve service; meets commitments
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating at all levels of client organizations as well as internally across functions (product development, customer support, sales)
  • The individual is committed to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers; acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect; treats customers courteously, with a friendly, helpful attitude
  • Takes pride in work product and pays close attention to detail; monitors own work to ensure quality
  • Strives to continually build knowledge and skills (professional and computer); shares expertise with others
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit; treats others with respect and consideration

  • Prefer 10+ years' experience in leading a data analytics team in a high-paced environment.
  • Previous oil industry experience is a plus
