As a Director, Enterprise Data, the essential responsibilities include:

  • Develop, own, and execute the enterprise data and analytics strategy aligned with the bank’s strategic plan, technology roadmap, and risk management expectations.
  • Own the enterprise data governance roadmap, analytics prioritization process, and standards for certified reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics.
  • Establish enterprise standards for key metrics, data definitions, semantic models, dashboards, management reporting, and board-level reporting.
  • Enable revenue growth, operational efficiency, risk management, customer insights, and executive decision-making through trusted data and analytics.
  • Oversee development of analytical models, reporting capabilities, and performance dashboards to support operational, financial, strategic, and regulatory decisions.
  • Define KPIs and performance dashboards used by executive leadership and board-level committees.
  • Partner with executive leadership to translate information needs into scalable analytics solutions and data platform capabilities.
  • Provide direction to business data owners and stewards across all major business lines.
  • Recommend data platform investments, vendor selections, and resource allocation needed to support enterprise data and analytics priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting, improve data quality, increase reporting consistency, and mature the organization’s use of data.
  • Establish and enforce a formal data governance framework including ownership, stewardship, access, retention, classification, lineage, quality, and control standards.
  • Chair or co-chair the enterprise data governance council and lead a cross-functional data governance team of 5 to 10 representatives.
  • Ensure analytics, reporting, and data governance practices support regulatory, audit, model risk, privacy, information security, and data classification expectations.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Information Security, and Technology on data controls, reporting integrity, access governance, and control documentation.
  • Maintain examiner-ready documentation for critical data sources, lineage, definitions, certified reports, dashboards, and controls.
  • Define and monitor data quality metrics, lead remediation of data integrity issues, and escalate material data concerns to executive leadership as appropriate.
  • Establish standards for data ownership, data stewardship, certified datasets, reporting governance, and responsible use of analytics across the organization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2 to 5 data analysts, data scientists, BI developers, and related data professionals.

  • Establish goals, performance expectations, development plans, and accountability measures for staff.

  • Recruit, onboard, and retain analytical and technical talent to meet current and future business needs.

  • Provide matrix leadership to business data owners, stewards, and subject matter experts supporting enterprise data governance and analytics initiatives.

  • Build team capabilities in data governance, business intelligence, data visualization, reporting automation, analytics, and financial services data practices.

Skills Needed

  • 8 or more years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data governance, financial services data, data management, or related fields.
  • 3 or more years leading teams, enterprise programs, or cross-functional data governance and analytics initiatives.
  • Experience establishing data governance frameworks, data quality controls, reporting standards, and enterprise analytics practices.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership, business unit leaders, risk, compliance, internal audit, information security, and technology teams.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, audit, privacy, information security, data classification, or reporting integrity requirements in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions, platform requirements, reporting standards, and actionable insights.
