Job description

MANTECH seeks a highly motivated, career and client-oriented Senior Data Manager to join our Data and AI Practice and support a client in Springfield, VA. This is an on-site position. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical and managerial leadership over the overhead satellite imagery (EO/SAR) preprocessing operations.

  • Act as the Government's primary communication interface to the team and manage other contractors to ensure tasks and requirements are successfully executed.

  • Oversee, monitor, and maintain the data operations pipeline—including data acquisition, ingestion, preprocessing, transformations, and bi-directional data movement between platforms.

  • Direct and lead contractor data operations team members, providing project management guidance and technical expertise for data creation and management initiatives.

  • Conduct regular QC and monitoring of data holdings to ensure compliance with specified requirements, data schemas, and standards.

  • Apply engineering best practices to maximize data pipeline efficiency and performance across multiple sensor modalities, such as EO, FMV, HMI, and SAR.

  • Ensure data dictionaries, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and software source code comments/documentation are continuously maintained and updated.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Data Engineering, or Geospatial analysis.

  • 3+ years of people management experience along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Extensive technical project management experience with a proven track record of independently driving strategic projects to completion.

  • 4+ years of experience performing quantitative analysis, creating visualizations, processing complex data, and managing extract, transform, load (ETL) procedures.

  • Working knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), demonstrated experience managing databases/pipelines, and experience with cloud architectures.

  • 2+ years of experience working directly with large, complex geospatial data files and formats.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with the Department of Defense.

  • Experience collaborating with government leads and AI Task Forces to align AI policies across client organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience providing technical insights and implementation support for integrating data acquisition, preprocessing, and management platforms.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • This role involves delivering presentations at client locations, primarily in Springfield, VA.
