Job description

ITCAPS is hiring an Associate Data Center Implementation Specialist for a 12-month onsite contract in Memphis, Tennessee. This role combines data center operations, hands-on server hardware support, Linux troubleshooting, and customer coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support within a production data center
  • Install, replace, configure, and troubleshoot server hardware
  • Coordinate onsite work with field engineers, vendors, and colocation teams
  • Manage service tickets, hardware inventory, parts shipping, and receiving
  • Monitor servers and escalate hardware or system issues
  • Collect logs and follow vendor-recommended troubleshooting procedures
  • Perform firmware upgrades, operating system installations, and system updates
  • Support GPU and network interface configuration and testing
  • Maintain equipment records, rack elevations, serial numbers, and runbooks
  • Conduct system validation and operational readiness testing
  • Respond to urgent hardware and infrastructure issues as needed

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience repairing or replacing server components
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Experience using the Linux command line
  • Ability to read and interpret Linux logs
  • Strong troubleshooting and ticket-management skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and work safely from a ladder
