Job description

Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Sev1Tech has an opportunity for a Training Developer with extensive instructional design specializing in the Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS)/Tactical Data Links (TDL) to include the development of Training Support Packages, POIs, and examinations. In this role, the candidate is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive training curricula for the MIDS JTRS and related Tactical Data Link (TDL) technologies. This role involves translating complex technical specs, specifically Link 16 operations, MIDS JTRS hardware configuration, and MIL-STD-6016 requirements into engaging instructional materials. 

Primary Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

  • Develops, organizes, and maintains supporting instructional materials such as practical exercises, examinations (written and hands-on), student handouts, background material, instructional aids, and training aids.
  • Technical publication validation, verification, and Logistics Demonstration (LD) process development and support.
  • Provide training and field support in the areas of Link-16 applications, engineering, integration, installation, testing, and analysis of the MIDS LVT, MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), and Joint Range Extension Application Protocol (JREAP)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
  • Work with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create technical training content regarding MIDS JTRS software reprogramming, COMSEC/High Assurance Crypto Equipment (HACE), and waveform integration.
  • Perform and provide training on MIDS JTRS software baseline updates at integrator facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA degree or 12+ years of expertise
  • Experience in the Experiential Learning Model (ELM)
  • Experience developing TSPs for the US Armed Forces.
  • 8 years' experience with Link 16, COMSEC articles and systems, Command and Control Processors, Common Data Link Management Systems, and Data Link Test Tools
  • 12-year background in MIDS Products and Tactical Data Links at PMA/PMW-101 and L3Harris/ViaSat
  • Hands-on experience with Link 16/Tactical Data Link systems and radio products (MIDS JTRS, MIDS LVT).
  • Army Instructor Basic Instructor Course or equivalent.
  • Direct experience with MIDS JTRS platform integration (aircraft, ground vehicle, or maritime).
  • Must be able to travel within the region and occasionally internationally up to 50% of the year, as required.
