Job description

Project Engineer (Data Center Systems)
This role will support a technical program owner while partnering closely with technical leads responsible for facility developments within large?scale data centers. This role is centered on data center infrastructure: racks, cooling systems, mechanical/electrical interfaces, containment solutions, structural framing, and spatial systems integration that enable high?density compute deployments. Day?to?day, this person will participate in highly technical engineering discussions regarding evolving hardware requirements, fan coil units, cooling strategies, and holistic power, mechanical, and structural integration. They will interpret these multidisciplinary requirements and translate them into clear engineering bulletins, design documents, and decision logs.
The Project Engineer will perform or review CAD/BIM modeling (Revit, SolidWorks, and other BIM tools) to evaluate overall building systems integration. They will run and support large cross?functional meetings (often with 50+ participants) across internal teams and vendors, ensuring alignment and driving clarity across multiple concurrent workstreams. This role requires strong engineering intuition across multiple building disciplines, the ability to follow complex technical conversations without being spoon?fed, and the autonomy to drive forward ambiguous, rapidly evolving engineering requirements specific to data center infrastructure.
Must Haves:
  • 5 7 years of experience as a Project Engineer supporting data centers
  • Background in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with CAD/BIM modeling tools (Revit, SolidWorks, BIM, or similar)
  • Experience supporting engineering work related to racks, cooling systems, fan coil units, or mechanical interfaces
  • Ability to follow highly technical discussions across structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural domains
  • Experience running or supporting large cross?functional meetings
  • Strong technical writing skills for engineering bulletins, design decisions, and documentation updates
  • Ability to work with high autonomy, ask the right questions, and execute without step?by?step direction

Nice to Haves:
  • Server hall experience (rack integration, chip deployments, cooling evolution)
  • Experience at a hyperscale data center operator
  • Experience with fan coil units or cooling systems that evolve with chip/rack requirements
  • Exposure to design verification testing (DVT)
  • Familiarity with power architecture
  • Experience supporting teams deploying TPUs, GPUs, or other high?density chips

Estimated Min Rate: $60.00
Estimated Max Rate: $90.00
