Labeling Specialist
Location: APW Warehouse Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Wage: $20.00 - $24.00
Position Summary
The Labeling Specialist is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining compliant cannabis product labeling for production, wholesale, and retail operations. This role works closely with Operations, Production, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing to ensure all labels, printed materials, and branded assets are accurate, compliant, and completed on schedule.
In addition to label production, this position supports marketing initiatives, develops standard operating procedures (SOPs), assists with third-party client projects, and helps maintain organized packaging and label inventory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Label Production & Compliance
• Create and maintain compliant product labels in accordance with OLCC regulations and company standards.
• Cross-reference METRC, laboratory COAs, and product specifications to ensure labeling accuracy.
• Produce variable data labels, strain-specific labels, correction labels, and specialty labels.
• Assist with third-party label creation for external clients.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to verify product labels, packaging, potency information, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate labeling discrepancies or compliance concerns to appropriate departments.
Marketing & Graphic Support
• Assist with the creation of retail marketing materials and promotional assets.
• Design and order company business cards.
• Support marketing projects including signage, flyers, point-of-sale materials, and other graphic design needs.
• Assist with additional marketing initiatives as assigned.
Inventory & Production Support
• Maintain inventory of labels, packaging materials, and related supplies.
• Coordinate label production schedules to support warehouse and production timelines.
• Assist with packaging, inventory organization, and special production, inventory audits and projects as operational needs require.
Documentation & Process Improvement
• Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse and labeling processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and labeling accuracy.
Team Support
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, and Production teams to support business objectives.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop required; Illustrator and Acrobat preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit.
Preferred
• Cannabis industry experience.
• METRC experience.
• Production or packaging experience.
