Job Summary:
MetroStar is a company dedicated to providing exceptional technology services and is currently seeking a Sr. Data Engineer I to support the Marine Depot Maintenance Command (MDMC) Digital Depot Support initiative. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data architectures and pipelines to enable advanced analytics and AI/ML modeling for depot maintenance operations.
Responsibilities:
• Work with AI team members to operationalize data pipelines and ML tasks.
• Provide day-to-day support of deploying Python-native ML pipelines and perform data engineering tasks to enable AI/ML capabilities.
• Present results to a diverse audience in presentation or report form.
• Support architectural leadership, technical support, and advisement services to ensure identity management system technologies are integrated and meeting the appropriate security requirements.
• Support leadership who engage with senior level executives and provide subject matter expertise in security architecture and other key domain areas.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering, or other comparable degree or experience
• 5+ years of on-the-job experience in Data/ML engineering; Advanced degree may be considered for at most up to 2 years towards the years of experience requirement
• Experience with ETL, Data Labeling and Data Prep
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, AWS Data Services, DataBricks, Python, Apache Spark, and SQL
• Strong communication skills, ability to communicate technical concepts in both layman and technical terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently/with minimal oversight
