The Decision Sciences team transforms Walmart’s operations by converting data into actionable insights at scale. This team excels in critical thinking and thorough data investigation to support business partners with informed decisions. Members leverage expertise in big data analytics, database query languages, and visual analytics to identify data sources, ensure data quality, and develop clear visual representations. The team collaborates across functions to address complex business challenges, applying advanced analytical methods and maintaining high standards of integrity and excellence to drive continuous improvement and deliver measurable business value.
What you'll do:
This role is a part of the End 2 End Decision Sciences, Store Data & Analytics. We are an analytics team that will support the innovations that impact our stores. You will help our business partners from multiple cross-functional teams answer unclear questions so they can make the best decision in a timely manner. You will be working with operations, product, finance, and executive leadership teams to provide them with the insights they need to drive Walmart forward in times of rapidly changing technologies.
What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in data analysis, including proficiency with big data analytics and database query languages such as SQL and NoSQL.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality management, including profiling, cleansing, and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools and techniques, with the ability to present complex data clearly using platforms like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Familiarity with data governance, storage, scalability, and enterprise data architecture principles.
  • Proven skills in exploratory data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends and insights.
