Job description

Gastro Health is seeking a Remote Part-Time EHR Data Integrity Specialist to join our team!

The EHR Data Integrity Specialist protects the quality and integrity of Gastro Health's PHI by using established workflows to index and route patient clinical data received via interfaces, inbound faxing, or scanned physical documents to appropriate provider or care team member avoiding delays in patient care. Ensures referring provider contact information is maintained at the enterprise level, promoting prompt exchange of patient clinical findings/care plan with the Gastro Health referral base

Data Integrity Specialist responsibilities are:
• Monitors interface reconciliation queues ensuring failed results are available for provider review within 24 hours.
• Identifies interface patient and provider matching, and result compendium inconsistencies reporting such to the interface team for resolution.
• Manages designated fax inbox queues indexing documents to correct patient, document folder type, and routing to designated user as established by the care center.
• Reviews failed faxes identifying referring providers with high volume failures and proactively validating contact information
• Creates or updates referring provider profiles upon request ensuring enterprise directory rules are maintained
• Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies within referring provider profiles maintaining the integrity of the referring provider master list
• Runs patient recall reports for offboarding providers assigning patients with open recalls to covering provider ensuring continuation of care
• Monitors access to PHI utilizing P.S.A.C. and break-the-glass reports investigating outcomes and report findings on a quarterly basis to the Chief Compliance Officer
• Provides coverage for MPI Specialist, investigating and reconciling duplicate medical records per company policy and procedure
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping patient record information confidential.
• Answer incoming calls for the Medical Records Department
• Unlock or reset passwords for patients to regain access to their patient portal
• Conducts training and in-service as directed by leadership
• Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Experience in Health Information Management or other healthcare settings.
  • 1-2 years within a healthcare setting or 1-2 year's experience in a related position
  • HS Diploma

Required Skills and Abilities and/or:
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle information in confidence according to HIPAA and Organizational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to problem solve and perform in a process-driven environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete work assignments in an accurate and timely manner and escalate issues as needed.
  • Actively promote the safety of our patient's data integrity
