Data Integrity Engineer information

What is a data integrity engineer?

Data Integrity Engineers are professionals responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within an organization’s systems. They design and implement processes to prevent data corruption, loss, or unauthorized modification. These engineers work closely with database administrators, data analysts, and IT teams to monitor data flows, validate data quality, and enforce data governance policies. Their role is crucial in industries where high-quality data is essential for decision-making, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What are some common challenges data integrity engineers face when ensuring data quality across large, complex systems?

Data Integrity Engineers often encounter challenges such as managing data consistency across multiple databases, identifying and resolving discrepancies caused by data migrations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, they must frequently collaborate with software developers and database administrators to implement automated validation processes and address data anomalies promptly. Staying updated with evolving best practices and tools is crucial, as data environments and requirements can change rapidly in large organizations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a data integrity engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Integrity Engineer, you need strong analytical skills, a background in computer science or information systems, and experience with data management principles. Familiarity with database platforms (such as SQL), data validation tools, and knowledge of regulatory compliance standards are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication help ensure data accuracy and facilitate collaboration across teams. These skills are critical for maintaining reliable, secure, and compliant data systems that support informed business decisions.

What is the difference between Data Integrity Engineer vs Data Quality Analyst?

Combined with evidence-based health interventions and a hybrid in-person + virtual care model, Daymark is improving the overall cancer experience for patients, providers, and health plans – and setting a new standard in cancer care.

Daymark's groundbreaking approach is led by CEO Dr. Justin Bekelman, a pioneer in transforming cancer care, alongside some of the nation's foremost leaders in oncology and value-based care. Daymark Health is backed by Maverick Ventures, Yosemite, Oncology Ventures, Healthier Capital, Blue Venture Fund, and Healthcare Foundry.

Be cautious of recruitment fraud, and always confirm that communications are coming from an official Daymark Health email.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

At Daymark Health, we are transforming how data drives decision-making in healthcare. We are seeking a Data Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, impactful data pipelines, working with complex healthcare datasets, and contributing to Daymark's mission. Working very closely with Finance and Clinical leaders, you will play a key role in shaping the foundation of our data operations. In this role, you will:

  • Support the deployment of scalable infrastructure and tooling (e.g. Snowflake, dbt, AWS, Sigma) to support analytics, reporting, and real-time data exchange with providers and partners.
  • Drive high-impact analyses across claims, EHR, and real-time patient activity data, translating complex data into clear insights that inform care delivery and payer collaboration.
  • Build and scale robust data pipelines and governance practices to ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance across the organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Clinical, and external teams to prioritize data initiatives that advance Daymark's mission and scale our value-based care model
  • Develop and maintain real-time analytics capabilities to monitor key metrics and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other teams to integrate analytics into production systems.
  • Provide ongoing insights from partner and provider data that directly impact patient outcomes and business success.
  • Align data infrastructure to be flexible in organization's strategic priorities (i.e., pharma data, Fee-for-service, etc.)
  • Augment analytics processes with AI use cases

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: You bring 4+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong technical foundation and track record of building scalable data systems in cloud environments. You've implemented modern data stacks including Snowflake, AWS, dbt, and other best-in-class tools.
  • Healthcare data expertise: You have a deep understanding of healthcare data—particularly claims, EMR, and patient-generated health data—and how to translate it into insights that drive care delivery, cost reduction, and payer-provider alignment. You've worked with actuarial teams or value-based care leaders to model risk, evaluate performance, and inform contract design or shared savings arrangements.
  • Strategic problem-solver: You thrive in ambiguity and are energized by building clarity from complexity. You combine hands-on technical ability with a systems-thinking mindset to design solutions that scale.
  • Collaborative operator: You're a strong communicator and cross-functional partner who can navigate between technical teams and clinical leaders to drive results.
  • Curiosity and innovation: You constantly seek better ways to unlock the value of data. You stay current with emerging tools and methodologies and bring a creative, experimental approach to solving problems.
  • Mission-first: You are driven by a desire to improve the healthcare system and deeply aligned with Daymark's mission to transform cancer care for patients, families, and providers.
