Job description

Low Voltage / Underground Fiber Technician


We are seeking 1 Working Foreman and 3–4 Electricians, Journeymen, and/or Helpers for underground fiber, telecommunications, electrical, power, and data installation projects. Candidates must have previous underground construction experience and a background in electrical and/or low voltage systems.

This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with a potential 6-month buyout clause. The project is expected to provide a minimum of 2 years of work, with opportunities to transition to additional projects afterward. The company offers excellent benefits and strong opportunities for advancement and promotion from within.


Job Type: Full-time, Temporary-to-Hire
Location: Mobile, Alabama
Pay Rate: Working Foreman: $40.00–$45.00/hr | Electricians/Journeymen/Helpers: $25.00–$40.00/hr BOE
Schedule: 4/10–12s or 5/8s, depending on project schedule
Start Date: ASAP
Travel: Local candidates only; within approximately 1 hour of Mobile


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install underground fiber optic, telecommunications, electrical, power, and data lines.
  • Install, route, and terminate low voltage and communication cabling.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repair of low voltage, fiber, electrical, and communication systems.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical, low voltage, telecommunications, and basic networking systems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Complete projects within established scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Working Foreman will lead and coordinate a crew of 3–4 workers and manage daily project activities.
  • Complete service tickets and required project documentation as needed.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of construction trade experience with previous underground construction experience.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical, fiber optic, telecommunications, power, data, or low voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of high and/or low voltage electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, networking, computers, VoIP, and IP addressing.
  • Ability to identify and work with common low voltage cabling.
  • Ability to read blueprints, architectural drawings, and schematics.
  • Previous experience completing projects within scope and schedule.
  • Working Foreman: Prior team leadership, management, or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • English-speaking or bilingual preferred.
  • Must be willing to work days or occasional nights as project needs require.
