Job description

Data Cabling Installation Lead- NNS

Primary Role:

You must be fully competent in Level two Roles and Responsibilities.

Responsible for overall completion of each project assigned to you. You must be able to complete assigned projects in accordance with NNSI safety, quality and productivity standards. You must be able to document and or verbally communicate well with subordinates, peers and supervisors. You will also be mentoring and coaching level one and two cable installers to enhance their skill set as well as assigning daily work tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Must be proficient in both Copper and fiber optic identification, placement, termination, splicing, testing and troubleshooting with test equipment.
  2. Must have basic computer skills including the use of MS Word, Excel, Project and Acrobat.
  3. Must be able to manage customer expectations through communications and negotiations using verbal and written communication.
  4. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing issues regarding codes and standards ie, plenum vs PVC; ISP/OSP terminal locations, lightning protection, etc.
  5. Must be able to perform a site walk through for a project (+/- $ 50k), compose a concise scope of work, list of assumptions, material list and estimate for the project.
  6. Must be able to review a scope of work (+/- $ 50k), list of assumptions and gross labor hour / dollar figure; then create a complete project plan (daily and weekly individual and crew goals, tool requirements, safety plan, etc.).
  7. Must be able to track individual / crew performance daily / weekly and compare it to schedule and budget then make personnel and schedule decisions accordingly.
