How much do data governance program jobs pay per hour?
What is the difference between Data Governance Program vs Data Analyst?
| Aspect | Data Governance Program | Data Analyst |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Certifications like CDMP, DAMA, or CDO certifications often preferred | Degrees in Data Science, Statistics, or related fields; certifications like Microsoft Data Analyst |
| Work Environment | Strategic, policy-driven, cross-departmental teams | Operational, project-focused, data-driven analysis teams |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Used by organizations establishing data policies across departments | Used in various industries for data reporting and insights |
The Data Governance Program focuses on establishing policies, standards, and oversight for data management across an organization. In contrast, a Data Analyst primarily analyzes data to generate insights and support decision-making. While both roles require data-related skills, the Governance Program is more strategic and policy-oriented, whereas the Data Analyst is more operational and analysis-focused.

Department Summary
Situated within a nationally recognized research institution, the Department of Art attracts students and faculty who value the study of studio art in the context of a larger intellectual and critical environment. Our curriculum reflects a diverse and fluid set of creative practices and critical methodologies. Students engage in broad and interdisciplinary approaches, as well as depth within specific media and practices. A robust visiting lecture series, bringing 10-15 artists, critics, and curators to campus each year, complements the curriculum. Nationally and internationally active, the faculty thrive on making connections between their individual studio practices and teaching. While we have diverse backgrounds, philosophies, and approaches, we have a strong commitment to a collective mission and a shared governance model.
The University of Oregon supports the Department of Art faculty by providing private dedicated studio spaces and a fund for professional development. Additionally, the Pacific Northwest and the state of Oregon have a vibrant range of accessible funding, opportunities, and resources for artists. The UO art and design degrees are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
