Job description

Are you highly detail-oriented and enjoy working in a structured office environment? We are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support a growing underwriting team by preparing insurance policies, processing documentation, and assisting with premium calculations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative or data entry experience who enjoys independent work and takes pride in accuracy.

What You'll Do
  • Calculate rates and premium amounts using established guidelines and underwriting instructions.
  • Prepare insurance policies, endorsements, renewals, and billing documents.
  • Analyze underwriting information and enter data into company systems accurately.
  • Complete policy worksheets, verify information, and maintain policy records.
  • Review and audit work for accuracy to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Assist underwriters with gathering and organizing rating information.
  • Process simple policy renewals based on established criteria.
  • Work closely with underwriting, accounting, claims, and other internal teams.
  • Communicate with brokers and business partners when additional information is needed.
  • Monitor policy issuance and endorsements with company partners.
  • Handle scanning, filing, and maintaining physical policy documents.
  • Support special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of administrative, clerical, data entry, or office support experience.
