SUMMARY

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for coordinating and supporting plant management human resources activities at the manufacturing facility(ies). Activities include resolving employee issues, communicating corporate policies and procedures, providing training and educational programs, supporting management in union-avoidance tactics for non-union plants, and counseling managers/supervisors on significant discipline and termination decisions for employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Counsel plant managers, supervisors, and employees on various human resources activities, including policies and procedures, benefit plans, job-related concerns and issues, and interpersonal relationships with peers and supervisors.
  • Administers activities related to plant employment practices. Assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, and promoting employees.
  • Advises and assists plant managers and supervisors with employee relations issues, complaints, and terminations. Ensures progressive discipline policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Assist in executing employee development plans to maintain the highest level of qualified personnel
  • Conducts human resources-related training.
  • Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, and absence programs for employees.
  • Participates in compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions, or adjustments in conjunction with Total Rewards.
  • Maintain all safety records (Incident Tracker database, internal Accident Log, OSHA Log, Quarterly Incentive data) and ensure their accuracy.
  • Responsible for accurate recording and data entry of employee information in HRIS and Payroll (Workday).
  • Responsible for biweekly payroll review, approval, and submission in Workday
  • Responsible for local plant administrative duties, including invoice coding and processing, bulletin board maintenance, maintaining files, and assisting with Plant events.
  • Any additional duties and tasks as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional required.
  • 5-7 years progressive HR experience. 3+ years' experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, and training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as it is normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units, which may require the use of PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel, including air travel or auto travel, may occasionally be required.
