Job description

This job description outlines the primary responsibilities through which employees embody our CARE values and contribute to the company's mission of outstanding service.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Enter IV medication orders for pharmacist review and ensure all order information is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient, customer, and prescription information.
  • Generate labels for IV medications and sterile compounded preparations.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to IV order-related inquiries.
  • Clarify IV orders and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Review, organize, and triage incoming faxes and prescription orders.
  • Follow proper sterile compounding techniques and maintain compliance with pharmacy standards, policies,procedures, and quality controls.
  • Participate in pharmacy inventory and rotate IV medications and supplies to support inventory control and quality standards.
  • Work under the direction of a supervisor and collaborate with pharmacists and team members to support the IVdepartment and overall pharmacy operations.
  • Complete other duties and tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed FL Pharmacy Technician required
  • IV medication experience preferred
  • PTCB certified preferred
  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred
  • Previous data entry experience preferred
  • Must be reliable and execute multiple tasks assigned
  • Good organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to physically perform light lifting

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods while performing computer and data entry tasks.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 10-15 pounds.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for extended periods.
  • Working in an office/pharmacy environment with frequent computer use.
