Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Retail Supervisor is responsible for providing direct support to store management, overseeing front line and kitchen operations in accordance with policies and procedures, and providing superior customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction to all store patrons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Assist managers with office duties, including data entry, daily reports, payroll, invoices, shift paperwork, incident reports, and scheduling kitchen employee shifts.
  2. Supervise assignments and breaks and coordinate till startup/closing and shift changeovers.
  3. Open and/or close the store according to policy and procedure.
  4. Train and coach all new employees, including conducting employee performance reviews, taking corrective actions, and informing management of staffing issues or needs.
  5. Process various transactions, including cash, credit/debit, coupons, discounts, and refunds, by issuing receipts, refunds, credits, and change to customers.
  6. Balance till and receipts daily, document discrepancies and maintain a safe and secure working environment for all cash handling.
  7. Greet store customers and thank them upon departure as well as resolve customer concerns.
  8. Manage inventory using a hand-held scanner, ensuring accuracy in ordering, storage, display, rotation, counting, invoice entry, and supervising inventory cycles.
  9. Inspect all work areas, including the kitchen, for inspection requirements.
  10. Work closely with managers in all functions of kitchen operations, sales, and budgets.
  11. Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and properly serviced.
  12. Participate in on-going training as required.
  13. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of and ability to abide by Federal, State, and Tribal laws, Lummi Code of Laws, and Washington State Liquor Laws for Alcohol & Tobacco Sales.
  • Proficiency in cash handling, problem-solving, and attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and diligence with tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including effective interaction with employees at all levels, including front line and upper management, as well as people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and motivate all team members to do the same.
  • Possess supervisory qualities and take initiative to suggest improvements.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and balance priorities and workload.
  • Ability to show a positive demeanor as well as a willingness to promote and sell products.
  • Ability to interact with customers and staff in a respectful, professional, and calm manner.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests to be eligible for and maintain employment, as required by the LCC Substance Abuse policy.
  • Must pass an extensive criminal background check.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in using equipment for tasks including clocking in/out, operating a POS system, handling a handheld scanner, and utilizing other electronic equipment as required by job duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Education Preferred: N/A.
Experience: One (1) year as an LCC Cashier or two (2) years' experience customer service/cashier preferred. Prior Supervisor experience preferred. Prior Kitchen experience preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and meet eligibility requirements for tribal insurance. Must obtain a food handler permit within 90 days of employment.
A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree requirement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Cashier and/or Cook employees including managing productivity, staff development, defining essential job functions, and coaching.
