Role Overview

ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Genetic Services Specialist / Distribution Specialist. The position is located in Elmira, Ontario, Canada.

This role supports both genetic services and distribution operations, providing technical expertise, logistical coordination, and customer support to maximize the value of ABS genetic solutions. This position plays a key role in supporting internal teams and customers through accurate data management, genetic program execution, and efficient product handling.

You will receive training and support from experienced team members and will have the opportunity to develop expertise in genetic management systems, data processing, and customer-facing advisory services.

You WillDistribution & Operational Support
  • Support semen order fulfillment, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management
  • Work within systems (e.g., Dynamics 365) to manage orders, inventory, and logistics
  • Handle nitrogen tank processes and troubleshoot shipping or inventory discrepancies
  • Perform warehouse duties, cycle counts, and SOP updates
  • Assist with office coverage during peak shipment periods and team absences
Genetic Services Support
  • Process Genetic Management System (GMS) data for sales teams and customers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Utilize systems such as GMS, DC305, CDN, and Holstein Canada to support genetic program execution
  • Provide ongoing support for internal genetic services operations and reporting
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date herd and genetic data
Customer & Sales Support
  • Visit assigned customers (as needed) to support genetic and reproductive program implementation
  • Assist customers in making informed decisions using ABS genetic tools and solutions
  • Support sales team efforts by contributing to customer engagement and service delivery
  • Collaborate with internal teams and advisors to ensure alignment on customer needs
General Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Represent ABS Global in alignment with company values and service expectations
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and operational standards
  • Seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills within genetic services and operations
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in dairy farming, agriculture, or livestock operations preferred
  • Strong interest or exposure to animal genetics, reproduction, or herd management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with data entry and reporting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to travel locally as needed
