Position Overview
Sofidel America of Duluth is currently seeking a Shipping-Office Assistant (SOA). We are searching for a dynamic candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!
As an SOA you will be responsible for processing outbound delivery paperwork from the warehouse, and verifying shipping information is scanned and filed in the system, while complying with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving minor decision making.
Job Responsibilities
  • Check in inbound and outbound drivers by verifying identification and pickup information, recording arrivals in the logbook, and assigning dock doors.
  • Perform accurate data entry in SAP upon completion of loading, bill orders accordingly, and ensure completed shipping paperwork is placed in the appropriate trailer.
  • Communicate carrier estimated times of arrival and scheduling updates with the Transportation Office Assistant (TOA).
  • Prepare and generate shipping labels for all small-package shipments.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal departments outside of Transportation to support delivery and shipping requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to emails in a timely manner; scan, file, and maintain shipping documentation; print orders for the following day; and promptly communicate operational issues to the appropriate department or supervisor.

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's degree a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a shipping and receiving admin/clerk or similar position
  • Knowledge of HACCP & OSHA standards
  • Knowledge in SAP and MS Office
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills and abilities

Work Environment
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
