CareRx is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant Lead- Data Entry to join our Pharmacy team in supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities. The Pharmacy Assistant will assist with the preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries, while supporting daily operations in accordance with the Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee a group of workstations, acting as the first point of contact for questions pertaining to inputting, eMAR platforms and payment authorization, Ensuring accurate documentation of completed work as per policies and procedures
  • Processing, adjudicating, dispensing and filling prescriptions
  • Processing orders and files on eMAR
  • Maintain accurate, organized and complete resident health records ensuring appropriate documentation and continuity of care at all times
  • Provide data entry support and backup as required
  • Assist with 3rd party entry
  • Assist with incident investigation, under the supervision of the manager
  • Proactively seek guidance from the manager in navigating complex situations
  • Provide project support, as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards and protect personal and organizational information
  • Other duties will be assigned as required to support business needs within the Pharmacy Assistant's scope of responsibilities
Lead Activities
  • Train new employees and provide progress reports to the Pharmacy Manager
  • Draft schedules for designated areas for management approval. Identifying need or opportunity for resource allocation.
  • Monitor daily workflow, actively work to manage bottle necks and escalate where appropriate.
  • Work with  manager to reallocate resources and request for resources throughout the day and project periods.
  • Conduct training on procedures for new and developing team members.
  • Daily schedule coordination and backup to the  manager
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the pharmacy assistant pod area
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of SOP for the pharmacy assistant pod area
  • Ensures Health and Safety Policies and procedures are followed
  • Escalation of staff disputes to management, acting in a manner that is professional.
  • Uphold and display CareRx values.
  • Manage huddles when the designated manager is absent as applicable.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
  • Competency with Microsoft Office software and Smartsheets
  • Demonstrated ability to work with PACMed and Synmed machines

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • · Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience in Long-Term Care
  • · Proficient in Kroll software, Point Click Care, Med-e-Care 
  • · Experience with MS Office, such as outlook and Smartsheet, an asset

Compensation Range: $20-23/hour. All lead Positions have a $2/hr premium. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.
