Job description

Position Summary
The Certified Warehouse or Manufacturing Associate is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility. This role supports daily production and warehousing operations by ensuring materials are staged, stored, and delivered accurately and on time. The associate is expected to maintain a strong focus on safety compliance, product quality, equipment care, and housekeeping standards, while communicating effectively with team members to meet operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety training.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or hazards immediately.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic, obstacles, and changing worksite conditions to prevent accidents.
  • Properly secure loads to ensure safe transport and storage of materials.

Material Handling & Operations
  • Move raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to designated areas using forklifts or other equipment.
  • Prepare merchandise for transport, including staging, packaging, labeling, and securing loads.
  • Use radio or electronic communication systems to receive assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Accurately record product movement, inventory transactions, and required documentation.

Quality Assurance
  • Inspect materials and finished goods for damage, accuracy, and quality compliance.
  • Report damaged, missing, or non-conforming products according to established procedures.
  • Handle materials in a manner that preserves product integrity and quality standards.

Equipment & Maintenance
  • Perform routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, and battery or fuel management.
  • Identify and report maintenance needs; do not operate unsafe or defective equipment.
  • Keep forklifts and tools clean and in good working condition.

Housekeeping & Workplace Organization
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas, aisles, and storage locations (5S principles where applicable).
  • Properly dispose of waste and keep staging and dock areas clear and orderly.
  • Support overall facility cleanliness to promote safety, efficiency, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and quality standards consistently.
  • Basic recordkeeping and data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods as required.

• Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) as needed for inventory and documentation.

• Communication
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, safety information, and documentation in English.

Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to constant or intermittent noise; ear plugs are required.
  • Exposure to dusts, chemicals, and allergens; safety gear including hard hats is required for bump protection and to prevent exposure to potential contaminants.
