Warehouse Associate
Job Description
Summary:
This position requires a thorough knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory. You will work with all levels of the organization to maintain on time shipping, receiving and inventory accuracy. In addition to the listed responsibilities, there may be other responsibilities required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving & Production Staging
  • Sort, count, inspect labels and parts and unpack freight upon arrival
  • Direct, unload, and store incoming materials and deliveries and ensure all are properly labeled and identified with part number, lot number (when required), and quantity
  • Review operations schedules and production requirements to stage all appropriate materials for current production runs and upcoming production runs
  • Ensure all staged inventory is properly labeled and identified with part number, lot number (when required), and quantity
Shipping & Production Returns
  • Prepare and ship items as discussed in daily morning meetings, per Supervisor or Manager, and Open Order Backlog Report
  • Prepare items for shipment - including picking, packaging, palletizing, scanning, addressing and shipping.
  • Verify all outgoing shipments for required paperwork, correct part numbers, labels, and quantities
  • Arrange the transportation of products - including determining most economical and efficient shipping method, contacting and scheduling carriers, preparing BOLs and labels, loading trucks
  • Ensure all inventory returned to the warehouse is properly labeled and identified with part number, lot number (when required), and correct quantity; re-weigh or count when necessary
  • Scan and complete inventory transactions to receive inventory and place received in designated location(s)
Inventory
  • Properly identify and locate all parts according to established procedures
  • Cycle count inventory according to established procedures and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems
  • Provide physical counts when requested
  • Actively participate in annual year-end inventory
  • Work with department to maintain warehouse and locations
Other
  • Maintain battery charge on forklift and fill battery water when low
  • Janitorial work - clean bathroom, trash removal etc., sweeping and mopping of floors
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
  • Material handling, shipping when necessary
  • Ability to work any shift and weekends when deemed necessary
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety procedures
  • Promote a high level of communication between departments to execute customer orders

  • Ability to create spreadsheets in Excel: formulas, formatting, data entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems (minimum 1 year)

  • Ability to perform application of percentages, averages, and ratios

  • Ability to understand how inventory affects other areas of the organization
