Old Republic Bitco is seeking a Data Engineer - Analytics to join our Home Office located in Davenport, IA. Position Summary:

In this role, you’ll play a key role in building and maturing the Company’s Data Services across all aspects of the organization. This includes recommending and implementing tools for enabling internal business units to leverage data securely, effectively, and efficiently.

You’ll develop high-level data analysis, participating in all stages of development from analysis to production releases, delivering data-driven insights to internal business customers. This is a highly collaborative role focusing on Data Services customer needs through data storytelling and insights while modernizing the analytics role for OR Bitco in a cloud-based environment.

You will be involved in all aspects of data science, engineering, and analytics as the Company instills and matures these capabilities and data discipline throughout the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Leaders, Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand the analysis required in order to form data requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs while accommodating scalable volumes of data
  • Participate in strategic data and analytics projects to enable our business leaders to consume data in a curated self-service model that leads to impactful insights for key business areas
  • Integrate and deliver data-driven insights and analysis from multiple sources for internal customers to make decisions relevant to their functional area or across product, program, customer, and risk axis
  • Develop analysis frameworks to enable agile and quick data insights, while maintaining the quality of the insight, and inform strategy
  • Partner across all operational and support functions to build scalable data-based solutions that provide insights into improving key metrics/OKRs
  • Work with business leaders to understand market drivers, OKRs, and products to interpret data and make them comprehensible to understand for other teams
  • Experience with trend analysis and reviews, drafting executive outlines, and recommending strategic changes based on data insights to non-technical leadership teams
  • Understanding and Experience in Statistical Modeling, Natural Language Processing, GenAI, AIML modeling
  • Implement automated data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy at scale
  • Design, build, and maintain robust reporting packages from multiple sources through our data warehouse and analytics marts, ensuring scalability and efficiency
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our reporting and analysis system performance and optimize as needed to handle increasing data volumes
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability across multiple environments (warehouse, data marts, reporting)
  • Utilize Power BI to create insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in a timely manner to minimize business impact
  • Create and maintain design documents and documentation for reporting pipelines, semantic models, and processes Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in reporting and data analysis, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary to support scalability and growth
  • Work closely with various business units and leaders to identify and interpret their data needs, suggesting innovative ways to consume and analyze data
  • Create reusable templates, such as Power BI semantic models, to empower other data services and IT personnel in their reporting efforts
  • All other functions and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar reporting role, with a strong background in data analysis, reporting and statistics
  • Proven work experience with a focus on data storytelling, report development and in-depth data analysis
  • Solid understanding of data reporting models and communication
  • Proficiency in Power BI or similar reporting tools, SQL, and experience working with relational databases
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools, such as Snowflake or Microsoft Synapse
  • Experience with data modeling, semantic model design, and optimization techniques for scalability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for continuous learning and professional development
