Volt is immediately hiring multiple Mechanical Engineering Interns in Wamego, KS.
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will:
  • Support the Production and Engineering departments, improving processes
  • Assist with data entry of AQE events to help drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement projects across the shop floor
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into existing manufacturing processes.
  • Review engineering drawings

This is a temp or temp to hire opportunity.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, full time onsite at the facility
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Ability to work safely and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect data, analyze information, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or manufacturing software systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exposure to CAD software
  • Must be pursuing degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or be a recent graduate . Must also be local to Wamego and surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $25.00-$26.15 Per Hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
