Job description

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Data Acquisition Hardware Engineer to join our team onsite in Lafayette, IN! We offer full benefits, PTO, 401k, and more! Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Acquisition Hardware Engineer within our Field Data Acquisition team. This role centers on building, configuring, validating, and shipping Field Data Acquisition Hardware Kits that support our Large Power System Divisionโ€™s products across NTI, NPI, and CPI lifecycles. You will work under team lead direction in a testing lab, with the expectation of developing the initiative to independently drive larger assigned projects within 2โ€“4 months.

This role offers a meaningful sense of purpose โ€” the data collected on these kits directly supports the development of high-quality products for the electric power, transportation, and mining industries.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities
  • Assemble Field Data Acquisition Hardware Kits per specification; troubleshoot, clean, and refurbish field returns; log and document pertinent unit information for storage.
  • Validate built kits for required performance, ensuring operation meets specifications prior to deployment.
  • Build data logger configuration files to be installed and verified prior to shipment.
  • Coordinate global shipment of units to sites for data collection; process field kit returns for rebuild.
  • Maintain lab inventory of all new and returned kits with thorough process documentation.
  • Procure parts and manage inventory to support ongoing kit build demands.

Requirements

Education & Experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience required. Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering required.
  • Internship experience may be counted toward the experience requirement with a minimum of 2 years in an electrically oriented intern role plus 3 years of real-world experience.
Top 3 Skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the initiative to work independently and drive assigned work forward.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage inventory, documentation, and concurrent kit builds.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks across build, validation, shipping, and documentation activities.
Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on electrical and tools experience including wiring, soldering, multimeter usage, and drills.
  • Ability to translate electrical schematics into wiring harnesses and complete full kit builds.
  • CAN J1939, CAN CCP, and Serial bus communication experience.
