Job description

As a payroll administrator, this position will be responsible for the administration of all full-cycle payroll activities including on boarding of new hires, off boarding, ROEs, and ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages, working with and/or provide on-going support to the payroll team on a regular basis, assisting the team which includes but is not limited to data entry, syncing information, processing monthly reporting and reconciliations.

Key Focuses

  • Verifying employee and time-keeping data
  • Computing and processing wages, deductions, benefits, and any other non-regular wages payments
  • Updating and syncing employee data across all payroll platforms, including promotions, transfers, leave of absences, terminations, and new hires
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from staff in a timely, professional and courteous manner or directs to the appropriate person(s)
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, compliance standards and employment laws, provincial and federal regulations

Experience and Education

  • Has their Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification or equivalent to 2 years of payroll experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time salaried position required Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • This is an in-office position and will be located on-site in Pomeroy's corporate office located in downtown Calgary.
  • This position is set in a fast-paced environment, working with numerous technology applications and high levels of interaction with employees and stakeholders.
