Our Unique Work:

The Data & Statistics Function strengthens the Federal Reserve System's ability to support supervision, monetary policy, and financial stability by modernizing how financial data is collected, governed, and transformed into insight. Our new operating model focuses on standardization, data quality, horizontal analysis, modernization, and expanded analytical capability across all data collections and sites. You'll join the Data Collection & Reporting Department's Treasury team, responsible for collecting and analyzing Treasury International Capital (TIC) data from U.S. financial institutions. This data provides critical visibility into cross-border capital flows and informs economic policy decisions. Your work will directly involve partnering with major financial institutions to ensure data integrity, conducting deep-dive analysis, and building analytical products that serve stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System.

Your role as Regulatory Data Associate:

  • Drive data quality excellence: Independently conduct analysis of complex financial datasets and create visualizations that identify anomalies and trends. Design targeted inquiries that resolve data integrity issues in data series and institutional submissions.

  • Manage data collection operations: Ensure timely receipt of all data submissions, monitor collection schedules, and resolve technical submission issues with reporting institutions. Maintain operational controls to support consistent, reliable data flows.

  • Partner with financial institutions: Establish and lead ongoing dialogue with financial institutions to enhance data quality frameworks and strengthen internal controls. Provide guidance on technical reporting requirements, submission processes, and regulatory interpretation.

  • Deliver actionable insights: Synthesize multiple data sources and institutional relationships of varying sizes and complexity to produce evidence-based analyses that inform policy decisions and operational improvements across the Federal Reserve System.

  • Champion innovation: Actively contribute to automation initiatives and emerging technology solutions that modernize our technology platform, increase operational efficiency, and scale our analytical capabilities.

  • Research and resolve reporting issues: Investigate complex reporting inquiries and technical issues, proposing sound conclusions based on regulatory guidance and industry best practices. Assess and respond to stakeholder requests on data collection operations and institutional reporting practices.

  • Participate in cross-functional workgroups: Contribute to Function and System workgroups, sharing insights and supporting initiatives that advance data collection and analysis capabilities.

The Unique Skill Sets We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a financial, economic, or analytic role

  • Experience in financial markets and products, regulatory reporting, or analytical work involving large or complex datasets.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. and global capital and money markets structure and products (e.g., Treasuries, Equities, Private Equity, Repo, Agency MBS, etc.);

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and operational excellence;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills-ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences;

  • Candidate must possess a proficient skill set including the MS Office suite such as: Excel, Word, Power Point;

  • Familiarity with or interest in Python, SQL, R, or similar programming languages;

  • Curiosity about analytical innovation and eagerness to learn and apply emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.

Salary Range: $112,000 - $130,000 / year
