Job Title:ย Senior GIS Technician
Location:ย Milwaukee, WI
Type:ย Contract

Position Summary

The Senior GIS Technician performs advanced geographic information system (GIS) data management, mapping, spatial analysis support, and quality assurance activities. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, validating, and documenting geospatial datasets while ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with organizational GIS standards. The role supports GIS analysts, developers, engineers, planners, and business users by providing high-quality spatial data and cartographic products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile, create, edit, update, and maintain spatial and attribute datasets.
  • Perform advanced geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and GIS data conversion activities.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of geospatial data.
  • Perform vector digitizing, raster scanning, georeferencing, and data transformation tasks.
  • Create and maintain metadata in accordance with GIS standards and best practices.
  • Support map production and cartographic design efforts.
  • Develop and maintain GIS data dictionaries, standards, and documentation.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation across multiple GIS platforms and databases.
  • Coordinate with GIS analysts and project stakeholders to support project requirements.
  • Assist with field data collection and integration efforts when required.
