Details
  • Part Time (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), Non-Exempt
  • Starts at $17.00 per hour
  • Reports to Recreation Supervisor - Community Center Operations
  • Located at Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55346)
  • Building operating hours are 5:30am - 10:00pm seven days a week. This position is for shifts including but not limited to 4:00 p.m. - 10 p.m., weekday and weekends.

Responsibilities
The Customer Service Support position supports the Community Center by welcoming and assisting customers and ensuring that all internal and external services are provided in a friendly, efficient and effective manner. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
  • Anticipating and responding to the needs of the internal and external customer by providing useful information or alternative resources; ensure the operations of the Eden Prairie Community Center are maintained at a level that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Manage membership and program registration together with customer service staff. Give work direction to the Customer Service team and other part time staff to help provide excellent customer service to citizens, customers, and employees of the Community Center, both in-person and on the phone.
  • Supports the Park and Recreation Department by assisting with patron relations, registrations, reservations, meetings, events, and programs.
  • Administrative support such as IT support, word processing, data entry, filing, cash handling, bookkeeping, record management and account maintenance.
  • Monitors all activities throughout the building during after school hours to ensure safety compliance by all users.
  • While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three years progressive experience in a customer service/office support role; administrative support experience including program registration, membership management, data entry, word processing, and record management; previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with Rec Trac software preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 10 lbs frequently, 10-20 lbs occasionally, and over 30 lbs on a limited basis; and the ability to bend/stand/reach.
  • Most work is performed in the Community Center either in the play areas or at a work station. Some travel in a car to other recreations buildings may occur.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City's evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work history verification and education verification if applicable.
