Rolls Royce has a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Data Center Manager to join our team. In this role you will ensure the successful delivery and operation of our hosting footprint. This is a technical position, requiring in depth knowledge of IT services and Data Centre facilities, operations, and management.
As a Data Centre Management professional, you will be accountable for the management of Rolls-Royces hosting footprint of the Americas Data Center's site server rooms and departmental server rooms. To ensure our facilities operate to the highest standard, you will own and execute the server room management system, covering all aspects of server room strategy, delivery, operation, service and security.

What you will be doing
  • Acting as the key operational issues escalation point for businesses supported by Insourced IT within the region
  • Liaising with Change Management and IT Security to authorize changes to the IT infrastructure for the locations supported by IT. Lead and own the delivery and operation of systems and services across the region for businesses supported by IT, ensuring these are monitored and maintained to the high levels of quality, standards and operability as defined within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Accountable for CMMC compliance for the Data Centre locations in North America
  • Key Control: PS (personal security), AC (access control), MP (media protection), MA (maintenance)
  • Drive improvements in the performance of service against the SLAs, parameters and contracts, ensuring the delivery of services meets all targets within Insourced IT locations
  • Creating performance and continuous improvement metrics with all stakeholders leveraging existing tools, ensuring they support the business needs in terms of standards, quality, efficiency, safety, performance and value
  • Liaising with Americas IT Security team to maintain the security of the IT estate, ensuring all on-site activities adhere to the appropriate policies and standards, ensuring zero security breaches within the region as a result of Insourced activities
  • Develop a Deliverables & Obligations Tracker then Monitor and maintain the Vendor and Rolls Royce's compliance with contract terms and conditions, commitments and notifications
  • Responsibility for the Data Centre operational support budget within the region, tracking costs and cost savings. Develop and maintain cost models, track actual costs vs. predicted. Drive a reduction in the unit and total costs for each service to benchmarked levels without impacting standards, quality, safety and performance of the service.
  • Ensuring that the necessary arrangements are in place to maintain or recover the delivery of systems and services in the event of any physical, technical or environmental disaster or major outage within Insourced IT locations. Providing disaster recovery and business continuity of service in line with the agreed plans.
  • Ensure we have the capability and capacity for growth in all areas including future HPPC cooling requirements
  • Serving as a liaison with key programs to ensure successful migration into business as usual for insourced sites
  • Technical understanding of HVAC, power, UPS systems (distribution, resilience, redundancy, sizing, efficiency).
  • Uphold and enforce cable / patch management, labelling, containment, rack density, documentation / architectural standards

Basic Requirements:
  • Associate's degree and 7 years of experience in Data Centre Management including MS Azure, Fedramp/Gov Cloud, Self-owned and co-location OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Data Centre Management including MS Azure, Fedramp/Gov Cloud, Self-owned and co-location, OR
  • Master's degree and 3 years of experience in Data Centre Management including MS Azure, Fedramp/Gov Cloud, Self-owned and co-location, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • In lieu of degree, 10 years of experience years of experience in Data Centre Management including MS Azure, Fedramp/Gov Cloud, Self-owned and co-location in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred Requirements:
  • Demonstrable IT management experience and delivery of results in a regional role, operating within a large multi-national and global organization.
  • Proven and extensive experience in stakeholder management at senior level (with an operational and / or service delivery bias).
  • Data Centre Professional, ITIL or similar qualification.
  • Exceptional influencing skills with specific regional lens and able to operate a demanding service orientated organization.
  • Exposure / experience of a shared services operating model / organization
  • Well organized, systematic and rigorous approach to planning work and priorities
  • Experience in problem solving & and understanding of the broader business context (business acumen)
  • Proven relationship management including strong communicating & influencing skills
