Job description

Our client is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of the Infrastructure Support Department supporting the Data Center Operations team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills, adaptability, and strong communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Data Center Technician
Location: Madison, WI (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Pay Range: $19 /hr. - $ 22 /hr. on W2

What's the Job?

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and decommission data center hardware and cabling infrastructure.
  • Support rack installations, migrations, equipment moves, and deployments within the data center environment.
  • Coordinate data center equipment intake, disposal, and inventory management processes.
  • Monitor and maintain power distribution systems and physical infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with facilities, security teams, vendors, and customers to support daily operations and project execution.

What's Needed?

  • At least 3 years of experience installing, decommissioning, and troubleshooting data center IT hardware and power/data cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience working closely with facility maintenance, security staff, solution vendors, and customers in data center environments.
  • Proficiency supporting data and power distribution, physical infrastructure, and network connectivity within enterprise data centers.
  • Knowledge of asset inventory, equipment lifecycle management, and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management tools.
