About You: We are looking for a Security/Structured Cabling Sales Representative who will secure profitable sales of structured cabling and voice/data projects and services through developing long-term relationships with multiple companies. Responsible to sell ongoing services and equipment, systems may include structured cabling/fiber optic cabling/TV distribution systems/wireless access point deployments and other integrated systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain a consultative relationship with clients who have structured cabling installation needs.
  • Identify and develop add-on sales as they relate to the project or client.
  • Follow-up on new sales leads and sales referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Present and sell company products and services to existing and potential clients, including electrical, general contractors and end-users.
  • Generate comprehensive proposals that detail cost estimates for both retrofit and new construction projects.
  • Attend and participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, and post-project completion meetings.
  • Identify local and multi-location companies within a specific geographic territory or vertical.
  • Develop business and social relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Provide oral and written presentations to potential customers outlining the equipment and services proposed by LVC.
  • Assist potential customers in the specification of bids prior to any Request for Proposals.
  • Work with Design to prepare detailed proposals for all systems and services to be sold and assist in the preparation of contracts.
  • Prepare local pricing estimates and BOM's.
  • Negotiate and close contracts presented to potential customers.
  • Assist the installation, service, and billing departments as required.

Qualifications:
  • Strong sales skills demonstrating a minimum of 3 years successful track record
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers over the phone
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changing technology and priorities
  • Must be a self-motivator with experience in cold calling
  • Advanced knowledge of access control, fire, and video surveillance systems
  • Self-starter with the ability to work efficiently
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to apply tact, diplomacy, reason, logic, and work with diverse groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write proposals, business plans, and general correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and the general public
  • Excellent logic, reasoning, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints (floor plans, riser diagrams) and a variety of information provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Outlook, & PC skills, utilizing a sales CRM system, specifically Salesforce (preferred but not required)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a concentration in management, marketing, or sales
  • 2-5 years proven sales industry experience
  • Voice/Data, structured cabling design, install and/or project management experience is a plus
  • End-user focused sales experience beneficial
