This position is hybrid working from our Legacy West Support Center located in Plano, Texas

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Director with focus on Data Lake and Business Intelligence to lead our team in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining sophisticated data warehouse systems, as well as analytics and business intelligence solutions. Your leadership will be crucial in overseeing a proficient team, guaranteeing the continuous availability, reliability, and security of our data assets. You will be at the forefront of adopting cutting-edge technologies in Data, BI and AI to promote a culture of informed decision-making based on data across our organization. This role requires strong retail business knowledge and large data background.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business & IT leadership to define the strategic vision for data warehouse, analytics and business intelligence initiatives that align with overarching business goals. Keep informed of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to fuel innovation and preserve competitive advantage.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse systems, guaranteeing scalability, reliability, and data integrity. Define data governance policies and procedures to manage data quality, access controls, and compliance mandates. Drive data analytics initiatives to derive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Foster robust collaboration within IT to ensure thoroughness of designs and proposals; adhering to PMO guidelines and processes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, analysts, and BI developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Manage staff by clarity on job expectations, employee appraisals with focus on development and succession planning.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring timely delivery of products and services. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts as needed. Contribute to creation of the annual IT budget then control adherence to budget by ensuring cost effectiveness of department spending and activities.
  • Oversee, control and evaluate operations of assigned applications systems, following policies and practices as defined for system access, testing, change management, and advancement to production. Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Proven working experience in leadership positions; in depth knowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence concepts.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with varied teams and stakeholders.

  • BS/BBA in Computer Science, MIS or similar field or equivalent work experience.

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the Corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary; however, occasional travel to company locations may be required. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
