Data Links Analyst

MTSI is seeking a Data Links Analyst who will be responsible for conducting and reporting fast paced, streamlined flight test operations in support of the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) in Tucson, AZ. Candidate will perform developmental and operational test support for the latest Air Reserve Component (ARC) operational flight programs across platforms and their associated data-link systems. You will participate in the integration of these new systems and execute development functions in support of test events for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) in Tucson, AZ. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the AATC Data Links Program Manager in operating AATC's datalink gateway hardware and software, AATC deployed network operations, identifying prospective design updates to mission systems to modernize and increase lethality for the ARC systems.
  • Understand operation of Link-16, Joint Range Extension Protocol (JREAP), Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), Satellite communications (Satcom), and Starlink/Starshield.
  • Provide in depth knowledge of USAF COMSEC Responsible Officer/User responsibilities.
  • Provide expertise on the tactical applications of Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve aircraft data link systems across AATC.
  • Responsible for post-flight data review and collaboration with system vendors to ensure viability with AATC systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, planning for and participating in flight testing, conducting pre-mission and post-mission briefs and mission reviews with project pilots, and assisting with engineering changes.
  • Understand the operation and tactical applications of ARC systems and their interfaces with Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve aircraft and systems as the candidate will operate in fast paced teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots, and aircrew.
  • Directly support AATC in the development of advanced combat systems from cradle to grave in an independent, high-energy environment and will operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots and other aircrew.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of datalink network experience, and a strong desire to learn new systems and propose new ideas for ground, air, and space platforms.
  • 5 years' experience operating JRE, MIDS JTRS, SADL, PRC-117, SKL.
  • Experience with data analysis software formats i.e. EDX and DERG.
  • Experience with DoD COMSEC management.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating excellent leadership and customer interaction.
  • Strong analytic skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Possess a can-do attitude and be self-starting, ambitious, and hard-working.
  • Able to work on an aircraft flight line in a high noise environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with aircraft systems/software test and development to include test provisioning/scheduling, test execution, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with data link scenario generation tools i.e. BOSS, MTDS.
  • Experience with network encryption devices i.e. KG-175, KG-250.
  • Experience with CISCO routers.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in technical discipline, preferably in network engineering, or computer science.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for Special Access Program (SAP).

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is expected approximately every other month with periodic two-week trips to support AATC aircraft deployments. Up to 20% travel, depending on program workload and work location.
