Job description

Job Summary:
AstraZeneca is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of prescription medicines. The Associate Director, Data Enablement will lead the development of multi-omics data products to support decision making in Oncology, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to ensure successful product delivery and data integration.
Responsibilities:
• Develop the strategy for and build multi-omics data products/ data atlases in a FAIR way which supports AZ cross-project delivery
• Plan and drive data curation-, integration, -management and operation efforts (coordination between scientists, engineers); conduct data quality control and normalization where needed
• Lead small cross-functional teams and ensure successful product delivery
• Work together with data engineers to automate data operations as much as possible
• Quantitatively observe and control product usage, to quickly understand gaps and issues
• Coordinate and streamline data transfer, exchange and integration activities with our vendor network
• Work with data product consumers (bioinformaticians, data scientists, scientists) to understand requirements, develop best practices in data wrangling/curation and storage of RWE data, and gather feedback
• Develop documentation and training material
• Identify opportunities for training/ education and drive/ support development of training and communication material
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master's degree in biology, bioinformatics, data science or related field; PhD preferred
• At least 3 years Bioinformatics or related experience
• 3 years' experience in data science/management and or data centric project/alliance management and integration with data entity focus genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics
• Understanding of the FAIR data principles and how to translate and implement requirements into a typical data flow
• Great communication and organization skills as well as stakeholder mgmt. experience
• Experienced working within cross-functional teams, including business data owners/stewards and technical product development staff
Preferred:
• Experience with multimodal healthcare data
• Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence
