You will partner across product, operations, technology, and analytics to raise data quality standards and create scalable, compliant data capabilities. As a Data Owner, Banking Payments at JP Morgan Chase within Banking Payments, you will be accountable for the data produced, provisioned, and consumed across Banking Payments products to support strategic business objectives, advanced analytics, business operations, and reporting. You will define and drive a data roadmap that improves quality, protection, understanding, fit-for-purpose use, discoverability, and integration into analytics platforms, while ensuring governance and control expectations are met.
Job responsibilities
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships across stakeholders to meet governance and controls requirements
  • Establish data quality expectations and oversight for critical data exposed to consumers, reducing risk from poor-quality data
  • Define and execute a product data roadmap supporting modernization and marketing initiatives, including acquisitions and migrations
  • Direct processes and procedures supporting Artificial Intelligence and machine learning initiatives (access and approvals, classification, tag management, harvesting, definitions) and evaluate relevant vendor solutions
  • Partner with product owners, process owners, and analytics leads to identify, define, classify, and prioritize critical data for their business areas
  • Support privacy initiatives across the firm and lines of business in a highly legislative environment that requires broad data expertise
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the Banking Payments data estate and the firm's data governance tooling, including application and product priorities tied to compliance processes
  • Communicate clearly and consistently on roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to drive alignment and delivery

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • 6+ years of industry experience in a data-related field
  • Experience managing delivery across multiple workstreams with varying timelines, priorities, and complexities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight timelines and deliver strategic change that meets organizational goals
  • Proven ability to build internal partnerships and influence stakeholders across levels and functions
  • Strong leadership skills across products, programs, projects, teams, and/or employees
  • Structured thinking and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodology
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, Python, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Snowflake
  • Experience with AI-driven operational efficiency by leveraging Al tools to synthesize data definitions, auto-generate data quality rules and epics.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience managing direct and/or matrixed staff to deliver data-related outcomes
  • Technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture
  • Experience supporting privacy initiatives and control requirements in regulated environments
  • Deep subject matter expertise in business or product data area preferred.
