Job description

Role – Senior Data Analytics Project Manager

Location – Onsite – South SFO

Client – Genentech 

 

Position Overview

We are partnering with a world-class healthcare and biotechnology leader to find a highly strategic Project Manager - Data Analytics. In this highly visible role, you will lead complex Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to enterprise leaders.

This position requires a unique blend of deep technical delivery experience in the analytics space, exceptional communication capabilities, and executive-level relationship management. You will be responsible for owning senior client relationships, driving large-scale data projects using Agile methodologies, and navigating a highly matrixed, global corporate environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Oversee and manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent BI development and Data Warehousing projects, driving execution through Agile frameworks.
  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for senior clients. Leverage exceptional communication skills to actively own, nurture, and grow these critical relationships.
  • Strategic Growth: Utilize your presence and expertise to successfully form and expand new relationships with senior executives across the corporation.
  • Technical Delivery: Apply a strong conceptual understanding of BI and DW ecosystems to guide technical teams, ensure project milestones are met, and deliver impactful analytics solutions.
  • Process & Governance: Champion data governance best practices, helping business leaders define critical metrics and manage business data effectively.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 13 years of progressive experience within the IT sector.
  • Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding and practical experience leading technical projects utilizing Agile methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for executive audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to work directly with senior executives, with a mandatory track record of owning and building senior client relationships within large, enterprise corporations.
  • Analytics Delivery: Proven technical experience in the successful project delivery of Data Warehousing (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts, coupled with experience managing multiple BI development projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Active certification in one or more Project Management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM).
  • Technical Background: Past hands-on experience working directly with one or more BI technologies and analytics solutions is a strong plus.
  • Data Governance: Specialized expertise in data governance, business data management, and metrics definition is a massive advantage for this role.

 

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field.
