Job description

About this job

Data is one of our most valuable assets. We're looking for a Director, Data & Analytics to build and lead the analytics strategy that powers Finance, Procurement, HR, and Legal, with Finance/FP&A as the primary focus. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Functions IT, you will own the vision for how data, analytics, and AI transform planning, forecasting, and performance management and you will lead the teams that turn that vision into delivered capabilities. This is a build-and-lead role for someone who has done this before: defined an analytics strategy from scratch, secured buy-in from senior stakeholders, and delivered measurable business outcomes through data products, modern platforms, and strong teams.

What You'll Do

  • Build the Data & Analytics vision and multi-year strategy for Corporate Functions, prioritizing Finance/FP&A analytics, forecasting, planning, and performance reporting.

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact analytics use cases in partnership with Finance and business leaders, turning business questions into data products and insights.

  • Lead delivery of modern analytics capabilities dashboards, self-service reporting, advanced/predictive analytics across Finance, Procurement, HR, and Legal.

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing data & analytics team, including talent planning, coaching, and performance management.

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of analytics initiatives: scope, business case, budget, timeline, and quality of outcomes.

  • Establish data governance, data quality, and master data standards that make analytics trustworthy and adopted.

  • Serve as the senior analytics partner to Finance leadership, embedding data-driven decision-making into FP&A processes such as forecasting, management reporting, and month-end.

  • Evaluate and introduce modern data platforms and AI/advanced analytics capabilities (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI) to raise the analytics maturity of Corporate Functions.

  • Manage relationships and contracts with analytics and systems integration partners to extend team capacity and expertise.

  • Build and defend the business case for data & analytics investments, aligning the portfolio to business priorities.

Who You Are

You are a builder, someone who has stood up a data & analytics function or strategy before and knows what it takes to go from whiteboard to adoption. You have deep credibility with Finance/FP&A stakeholders because you understand their processes and speak their language, and you know how to translate that into a technology and analytics roadmap. You lead by influence as much as by authority, building trust with senior executives while also rolling up your sleeves with your team. You're energized by ambiguity and by building something new, not just running what already exists.

Required Skills

  • BA or BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field.

  • 12+ years of experience in Data & Analytics, including demonstrated experience building and executing an analytics strategy for a Finance/FP&A organization.

  • 5-10 years leading delivery of enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Visualization/BI solutions.

  • Hands-on strategic experience applying platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Power BI to Finance/FP&A use cases, ideally extended to Procurement, HR, Legal, or Compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale a data & analytics team and operating model.

  • Experience in Life Sciences or another highly regulated industry.

  • Track record of managing systems integration and analytics delivery partners on enterprise-scale initiatives.

Preferred Skills

  • MBA or advanced degree.

  • Experience with global systems integration partners.

  • Experience with Oracle EPM/Hyperion or comparable enterprise planning platforms.
