Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA)drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, Visa Consulting and Analytics solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The NA Commercial Consulting Practice within VCA provides consulting services for Visa's clients as it pertains to commercial and small business payments. We apply deep expertise in the banking, payments and analytics industry to assist clients with their key business priorities, drive growth and improve profitability. TheVCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services to deliver solutions that address unique challenges in areas such as improving profitability, strategic growth, customer experience, digital payments and managing risk.

The VCA team is looking for a Small Business Director to join our commercial consulting practice and play a role in developing high impact projects for Visa's clients in NA. The potential candidate will be responsible for managing a pipeline, selling, delivering and implementing Small Business consulting projects and solutionswith Financial Institutions, Issuing Banks and Fintechs. This person will develop initiatives to promote sustainable and profitable growth, thereby ensuring that Visa is both,thepreferred brand and unique business partner. The ideal candidate can deliver against sales targets, has experience managing multiple consulting engagements concurrently, can quickly structure and solve complex and nuanced problems, and have a curious mindset utilizing AI.

Most engagements are focused on developing strategies for our clients e.g. market penetration strategies, competitive analysis, segmentation, growth, product development, program launch, customer acquisition, customerlife cycle optimization, retention and enhancements.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Meeting sales targets across Visa's client base
  • Proactively engage with Visainternal teams in regular, strategic and planning discussions
  • Collaborate with Visa account executives and other VCA colleagues to cultivate and manage a pipeline of commercial engagement opportunities
  • Lead and serve as a subject matter expert on commercial payment related consulting engagements
  • Create new approaches, toolkits, and best practice documents that can be leveraged across VCA
  • Develop enduring relationships with clients and colleagues across Visa
  • Participates in consulting initiatives and contributes to engagements by identifying potential opportunities, providing commercial payment expertise and industry knowledge to our Issuing partners.
  • Develop frameworks, approaches, solutions and recommendations that effectively and efficiently address the most impactful opportunities and challenges.
  • Build solutions and actionable insights that will help clients to grow their portfolios and customer engagement in their core business
  • Partner with peers in other functional areas (marketing, sales, risk, innovation) and across global regional teams to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa's resources
  • Produce insights, analyses and recommendations to improve client performance, boost growth, drive understanding of client issues and provide strategic guidance for client priorities across the verticals and segments
  • Build new scalable AI solutions and best practice documents and consulting approach that can be applied across VCA practice
  • Disseminate learnings and opportunities from consulting engagements to peers across the broader organization, supporting a flywheel of innovation and growth
  • Stay up to date with emerging payments trends and create thought leadership to disseminate those trends to Visa's clients

Incumbents applying for the role should be self-motivated, highly energized, detail-oriented individuals who will deliver strategic thought leadership, problem diagnostics and high impact solutions to support growth and performance. Candidates must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with internal and external clients and across the Visa organization. This is an individual contributor role, with potential for direct reports. This role can be based in one of the following offices: Ashburn, VA or Atlanta, GA andreporting into a Senior Director within VCA.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Knowledgeable of the business needs of small business and commercial card customers and their suppliers, e.g., payables and receivables practices and challenges
  • Well-informed on best practices to meet customer needs across the small business and commercial card customer lifecycle and functional areas in banking, e.g., customer acquisition, cross-sell, underwriting, implementations, onboarding, account management, supplier enrollment, and customer retention
  • Relevant commercial card experience at US Financial Institution or consulting firm
  • Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance. Significant focus on impacting ROI
  • Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking operations and payment schemes, including products & services, business systems and processes, marketing initiatives and card issuing experience
  • Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills
  • Team player
  • Technology mindset, curious, up to date with digital trends and applications
  • Proficient in working with AI.

U.S. Applicants Only

The estimated salary range for this positionis $151,600 to $257,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
