Senior Buyer - Capital Projects


Location: The successful candidate can sit onsite at either our Esterhazy K1, K2 or K3 mine or at our Regina office. Candidates in Regina can expect to travel bi-weekly to Esterhazy.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid with 3 dedicated office or onsite days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

We're looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join our Regina team. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting capital and operational projects by leading sourcing initiatives, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring compliance with strategic agreements. If you enjoy collaborating cross-functionally and influencing project outcomes from planning through execution, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Capital teams to plan and develop project scopes, schedules, and bid packages

  • Develop bidder lists, conduct detailed bid analysis, and provide award recommendations

  • Collaborate with EPCM firms to ensure sourcing activities align with Mosaic requirements

  • Manage supplier relationships and performance through the lifecycle of agreements

  • Develop and execute structured agreements that protect Mosaic's interests using established tools and processes

  • Partner with Legal to draft, review, and finalize contracts

  • Ensure agreements are executed, filed, and distributed in accordance with company policy

  • Ensure contractor compliance with insurance and WCB requirements through ISN and complete post-job evaluations

  • Process purchase orders, expedite materials and services, and resolve invoice issues with Accounts Payable

  • Identify and report cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements

  • Attend meetings, collect data, prepare reports, and travel to sites as needed

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing or related experience

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing or related environment

  • 1+ years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or ERP system

  • Demonstrated analytical, communication, and contract management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field

  • Experience working with engineering procurement construction management (EPCM) firms on capital projects

  • Experience with original equipment manufacturer procurement - OEM

  • Experience with SAP Ariba and/or SAP Fieldglass
