Job description

Performs detailed financial analyses; designs and improves financial management systems; prepares forecasts of revenues or expenses. Assists departments in the development of budget preparation and in other areas; reviews, analyzes, and approves departmental budget submittals; prepares fiscal analysis on various accounts and funds; researches and recommends revenue enhancements; conducts research and prepares reports for assigned special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public/Business Administration, Economics, or related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,
OR
• A Master's Degree in Business/Public Administration (MBA/MPA); minimum of one (1) year of experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,
OR
• An unrelated Bachelor's Degree/related Associate's Degree; minimum of three (3) years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,
OR
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience with governmental accounting and budgeting systems,
• Experience preparing/monitoring revenue budgets,
• Experience performing grant administration for a local government department, and
• Experience preparing Crystal reports from the Advantage Financial System
