What is an associate data analyst?

An associate data analyst is an entry-level or junior role responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to support business decision-making. They often use tools like Excel, SQL, and data visualization software, and typically work under the supervision of more experienced analysts to develop their skills and understanding of data analysis processes.

What does a Data Analytics Associate do?

A Data Analytics Associate is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to help organizations make informed business decisions. They use statistical tools and data visualization techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights from large datasets. Typically, they collaborate with different departments to interpret results, create reports, and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements or strategic planning. Their work is crucial for organizations looking to leverage data for competitive advantage.

Is an Associates in data analytics worth it?

An associate's degree in data analytics can provide foundational skills in data collection, analysis, and visualization, which are valuable for entry-level roles such as Data Analytics Associate. However, many employers also value relevant certifications and practical experience, so combining the degree with hands-on projects can enhance job prospects.

What can you do with an associate's in data analytics?

A Data Analytics Associate can analyze data sets, create reports, and support decision-making processes using tools like Excel, SQL, and data visualization software. This role often involves cleaning data, identifying trends, and working with teams to improve business outcomes, typically requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

How does a Data Analytics Associate typically collaborate with other departments within a company?

Data Analytics Associates frequently work cross-functionally, partnering with teams such as marketing, finance, and operations. They help these departments interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights that inform decision-making. Collaboration often involves attending meetings, participating in project teams, and communicating findings through reports or presentations. This close teamwork not only enhances business outcomes but also provides associates with exposure to different aspects of the organization, fostering professional growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Data Analytics Associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Analytics Associate, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in statistics, and a relevant degree in fields like mathematics, economics, or computer science. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, and visualization platforms like Tableau is typically required. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and presenting findings. These skills ensure accurate data-driven insights that support informed business decisions and drive organizational success.

Will AI replace data analyst?

AI is transforming the role of data analysts by automating routine tasks such as data cleaning and basic analysis, but it is unlikely to fully replace the need for human analysts. Data analysts are essential for interpreting complex data, making strategic decisions, and providing context that AI tools cannot fully replicate. Skills in data visualization, statistical analysis, and understanding business needs remain critical for the role.

Salary: $99,500–$135,000/year* + profit sharing + benefits
*Range depends on skill level and overall experience.

Location: Franklin, TN—on-site, relocation assistance available, flexible schedules available

A Little Bit About Us: You might know us from our founder and CEO, Dave Ramsey, who’s given no-nonsense money advice on the radio since 1992. Three decades later, Ramsey Solutions is a household name in personal finance, with a mission to change the toxic money culture for good.

Our Mission: Ramsey Solutions provides biblically based, commonsense education and empowerment that give HOPE to everyone in every walk of life.

Here’s a Taste of Our Benefits:

  • Health insurance (includes plans eligible for an HSA—with a company match up to $500!)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% match/company contribution
  • Annual wellness, counseling and grocery membership reimbursement
  • On-campus cafe with subsidized pricing for breakfast, lunch and coffee bar
  • Dependent care FSA
  • Tons of cultural activities, like weekly devotional, leadership development courses, Battle of the Bands, and one epic Christmas party!

Where and How You’d Work:

Ramsey Solutions Headquarters is located just outside of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee. We value our strong, unified company culture because we believe the best work is done together. That’s why all of our team members work on-site under the same roof. But work-life balance is also important to us, so we offer flexible work schedules to take the stress out of appointments, family obligations and other needs that may pop up.

While every team member has a designated workspace (with an electronic sit-stand desk), our campus was designed to house a variety of unique work and play zones (e.g., quiet library space, coffee bar/lounge areas, recreational game zone, and outside/patio work and break areas).

What You’d Do in This Role:

You’ll lead a team of talented analytics engineers who power the decision-making for Ramsey’s consumer businesses. You’ll be both a hands-on data leader and a strategic partner, turning complex data into actionable insights that drive growth and profitability across multiple business units, including our network of show that have millions of listeners!

As a data leader in this space, you’ll build the insights and systems that fuel our company's mission. You’ll ensure our consumer businesses have reliable, actionable data to make confident decisions, optimize performance, and serve more people effectively. You’ll build confidence in the data, level up our analytics discipline, and grow the team’s skill and impact.

You’ll turn data into stories, stories into strategy, and strategy into impact.

You’re Probably a Match If:

  • You have 5+ years of experience as an analyst, data engineer, or another similar role.
  • You are proficient in SQL and Python.
  • You have experience with data modeling, data visualization tools (e.g., Streamlit, Tableau, or Plotly), and cloud-based data platforms (preference for AWS).
  • You have the ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have an interest to grow in leadership and leading a team of analytics professionals

What Winning Looks Like:

  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and transformations using SQL, Python, dbt, and AWS Redshift.
  • Define and standardize metrics, reporting, forecasting, and experimentation frameworks to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders to translate key information needs into scalable analytics solutions and data products.
  • Lead, mentor, and prioritize the work of a high-performing analytics team.
  • Own data quality by implementing validation, monitoring, and governance processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Other Stuff to Know:

We’re looking for people who are passionate about our mission. This isn’t just a J-O-B. We experience resistance every day because what we believe is absolutely countercultural. We actually hate debt. We actually cut up our credit cards . . . like, for real. Some of us are still fighting our way out of debt, but we aren’t going back. If you don’t know much about Ramsey Solutions and our founder, Dave Ramsey, we encourage you to download the Ramsey Network mobile app and consume our content.

If Ramsey Solutions sounds like a workplace where you can get excited about Mondays, apply today. We can’t wait to hear from you!
