Description
NTRS Asset and Market Data team is looking for an experienced and versatile Data Analytics Engineer to help us build a Security Master System. In this role, your duties will include system analysis of various applications and databases and translating those to documentation. You may also be required to create high level acceptance criteria using that documentation.
To ensure success as a technical data analyst, you should demonstrate experience performing data analysis to provide insight into the characteristics of those data sets using standard statistical methods and data science concepts.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze several existing systems to document fields and functions. Create detailed functional documentation those systems.
• Relate current systems to industry standards to help build a new system.
• Manage the execution of data analytics projects to drive value and gain insight from information.
• Analyze and review the use of advanced data analysis techniques that leverage technology to process large volumes of data, and perform complex computations in a scalable, reproducible and automated manner.
• Use data analysis to detect patterns leading to more efficient testing and data quality.
• Perform data analytics to identify and mitigate audit risks and achieve data automation, reconciliation, traceability, lineage and transparency.
• Use data analytics to provide actionable, timely and accurate data to drive business insights around regulatory risk, compliance, operations and finance.
• Familiar with data sourcing, data capture, data transformation and data preparation techniques
• Familiarity with Data Binning and K-means Clustering and applying those techniques.
• Working knowledge of core financial processes and related risks and controls and underlying data structures would be beneficial.
Skills and Experience:
• A degree, preferably in Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, Physics, (Applied) Mathematics, Accounting, Information Systems.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with a minimum 2 years of relevant Data Analytics experience
• Extensive experience in technical business analysis in the fintech industry
• Exceptional communication skills toward facilitating the use of new software systems
• Knowledge of visualization tools like Tableau, Spotfire, Qlikview, etc. would be a plus
• Knowledge of ACL, databases, and hands on experience / theoretical knowledge in SQL including writing stored procedures and data extraction / manipulation using queries would be a plus
