Location

San Diego, California. Candidate must currently reside in the San Diego County region or must be willing to relocate within sixty (60) days of hire.

Hybrid work model: 60% on-site, 40% remote.

General Summary:  

The Data Analyst is responsible for creating reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that provide business insight and aid decision-making. The incumbent in this role will combine reporting with subject-matter expertise to deliver coherent, insightful takeaways and advice.

This position requires a detail-oriented individual to support projects with varying degrees of complexity across multiple business units and internal teams.

Supervision Level

  • Reports to Manager, Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage business intelligence solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, and present data to guide informed business decisions.
  • Create and maintain user manuals, including design, requirements, etc.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to better understand valuable objectives and KPIs, and design relevant reports and dashboards.
  • Identify development needs to streamline and improve organizational efficiencies.
  • Identify process improvements and capabilities to increase consistency and reliability of business functions and see them through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of key business processes and foster disciplined approach for adherence to those processes.
  • Build dashboards and reports across multiple lines of business using PowerBi dashboards.
  • Analyze historical and current data to identify trends; create dashboards which provide actionable insights, and provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure data is relevant and accurate.
  • Leverage internal business tools (Microsoft Excel, SAP, Ariba, PowerBI, Tableau, and IBM Cognos TM1 functionalities) for reporting and managing the status of project artifacts.
  • Uses query languages, such as SQL, scripting languages, such as R and/or Python to produce reports and perform quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing meaningful business concerns and inquiries.
  • Coordinate and manage special projects; ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Perform self and department level reviews of reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
