We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Finance team!

The Business Unit Financial Analyst will lead, evaluate, and support financial implications of the business unit's strategy, operations, financial outcomes, and overall performance targets. This position will provide data driven insight and support for enhanced decision making to drive success of our customers, business unit and GreatAmerica Financial Services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong financial acumen combined with analytical skills and solution driven mindset.

As a Business Unit Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Partner with Business Unit Leaders in development of the business unit's operating and financial strategies
  • Assist in development of the business unit's financial models to forecast operating results, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements. Models would include annual budget and longer term (i.e. 5 year) financial plan
  • Continuously analyze the performance of the business unit against financial plans, identifying areas of opportunity, areas with positive and negative trends, and areas of concern. Once identified, work with business unit leadership team to develop and implement plans to outperform financial plans
  • Work with business unit stakeholders, utilizing data and analysis, to quantify financial and operational impacts in support of strategic decision making
  • Make recommendations to leadership team regarding revenue growth or cost saving opportunities that align to longer term financial plans
  • Assist in monthly reporting within the business unit and to the leadership team
  • Partner with business unit and the data analytics team on the design and creation of interactive reports and dashboards to inform and drive action by business units
  • Strategize and champion implementation of program pricing, with a focus on profitability and customer success
  • Contribute to other key areas of the business unit which have significant financial implications such as pricing, compensation plans, staffing levels, etc.
  • Proactively promote and participate in process improvement initiatives within the business unit
  • Promote a data driven culture throughout GreatAmerica via active participation in a data champion community utilized for knowledge and best practice sharing
  • Perform other duties as required

To be successful in this role you will need:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics or related field
  • CPA is a plus

Experience

  • New college graduate or Finance professional with 1-3 years finance and accounting experience

Computer Skills

  • Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Tableau or PowerBI a plus

Other Requirements

  • Must have exceptional analytical, data management and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and possess outstanding computer skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be an organized, creative, team-player with initiative who responds well to challenges and demonstrates sound business judgment
