Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support the Finance and Accounting team. Reporting to Finance leadership, this role is responsible for analyzing financial and operational data to provide insights that improve profitability, support forecasting, and enhance overall business performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial data, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights for leadership.


Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and key performance drivers.
• Support monthly close analysis including revenue, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for leadership.
• Provide insights into branch, product line, and customer profitability.
• Analyze margin performance, inventory trends, and operational cost drivers.
• Partner with finance, accounting, and operations teams to evaluate performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Extract, clean, and validate data from ERP systems and financial platforms.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial reporting systems.
• Automate recurring financial reports to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Support preparation of executive reports, board materials, and financial presentations.
• Assist with audits and financial reviews by compiling and validating supporting data.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and financial visibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting analytics, or business intelligence.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial datasets.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with SQL, Power Query, or similar tools is a plus.
• Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles preferred.


Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
