Job description

Summary:
The Data Analyst plays an essential role in supporting data gathering, analysis, and report development. This position will utilize data and develop reports, while also being dedicated to learning the fundamentals of data analysis and developing foundational skills to contribute to the organization's data-driven initiatives. The Data Analyst will assist senior team members while also creating output to help system leaders in understanding key metrics.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Data Gathering and Reporting:
  • Assist in retrieving data from various sources and build reports and dashboards to visualize key metrics to system leader and/or assist with creating research datasets
  • Participate in data management tasks by querying and merging datasets.
  • Learn and develop proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Power BI, R, SQL, Microsoft Office, Python, and others.
Data Extraction and Utilization:
  • Collaborate with the team to develop a fundamental understanding of data sources and the data extraction process.
  • Support team with data extraction and utilization efforts.
  • Assist with contextualizing data and data flow automation.
Collaboration and Learning:
  • Work closely with data analysts and leaders to understand business needs and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
  • Participate in innovative data analysis projects and contribute to the organization's journey towards becoming more data-driven.
Data Analysis Support:
  • Learn and provide support for data analysis tasks, such as data cleaning and statistical analysis.
  • Contribute to data-driven hypothesis testing, A/B testing, regression analysis, and other statistical methods.
Effective Communication:
  • Participate in meetings and assist in presenting basic reports, findings, and analyses to stakeholders within the system.
Promote a team atmosphere by treating individuals with respect and honesty and by using direct communication and active listening skills.
  • Be open to change and actively support change.
  • Be open to others' ideas and points of view.
  • Evaluate employees objectively and provide employees with periodic feedback.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, math/statistics, economics, psychology, etc.).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a data analysis-related role
  • Strong interest in data analysis and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
  • Experience with at least one statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata, etc.).
  • Experience querying data using SQL scripting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is highly preferrred.
  • A desire to build foundational knowledge in advanced analytic/statistical methods.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A meticulous and detail-oriented approach.
