Description
We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Data Analyst to add to the Business Intelligence (BI) team. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible writing, maintaining, and evolving data pipelines (E.T.L./E.L.T.), creating, validating, sharing, and controlling dashboards, reports, and API connections between connected data sources, and analyzing large and small datasets for valuable insights. Your expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and reporting will play a pivotal role in supporting Sales, Corporate Operations, and Field Operations sectors and their respective departments to contribute to the overall success of ION Solar.

A successful Senior Data Analyst will be open to feedback, both positive and critical, will drive adoption through persuasive, coordinated consistency, backed by valid and accurate data. Additionally, having additional experience in the solar industry and leveraging data science principles to evolve the data maturity level of the organization. Finally, grooming and assisting the growth of Junior Data Analysts and ensuring that the department has a cohesive and reliable accuracy rate by reviewing each other’s work, code, and filter logic.


Responsibilities:

  • Define and catalog a data dictionary with utilization rates, key performance indicators and formula logic to ensure everyone is speaking the same language
  • Deliver consistently accurate tables, visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present insights to stakeholders and management across multiple systems
  • Study and watch market trends, refine weekly sales reports, daily Ops progression (including queues and workloads) for patterns and opportunities to improve the business
  • Work with the B.I. Manager on current priorities, backlog stories, epics, and other initiatives as set by the B.I. Manager, the VP of Sales Ops, the VP of Operations, and other executives.
  • Streamline, scale, and affordably consolidate technology spend in a dynamic environment with cloud-based tools in conjunction with development, IT, and executive committees
  • Setup and monitor alerts for real-time outages, preventing what you can, and informing of critical issues
  • Organize yourself around best practices for project management in the software suite that the team uses internally and with stakeholders
  • Leverage A.I. as appropriate when building, analyzing, or interpreting others’ questions or work
  • Attend meetings as requested with sector heads, department managers, directors, and ad-hoc huddles.
  • Harden and pen-test systems in coordination with IT to ensure data privacy and compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Frequently audit data governance policies and access-level controls to secure ION’s data presence and privacy. As a team we have a lot of privileged data, and a lot of access and need to stop leaks before they happen.
  • Interface frequently with Salesforce Service Cloud (CRM) as an end user, an integration specialist (application program interface or A.P.I.), and an administrator to understand both experiences and not cause disruptions or downtime

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related field (Required)
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or a similar role (3-5 years)
  • Profound knowledge of descriptive statistics, data mining, and business intelligence principles.
  • Previous experience in Salesforce, Tableau and other ecosystem tools required (2-3+ years)
  • High aptitude with spreadsheets, (Excel, Google Sheets), pivoting and unpivoting tables, and connecting (AppScript, extensions, and supported connectors
  • Proficiency in programming languages SQL, SOQL, or similar technologies, as well as Python or R (1-2 years minimum)
  • Familiarity with data amalgamation, prep, and visualization tools required (e.g. Power BI/Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professionalism in interfacing at all levels of management (C-Suite + Executives, VP, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads).
  • Experience in door-to-door sales environments, solar (renewable energy) a plus
