Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Cutting materials through the knowledge and skills of aircraft upholstery via Dassault Falcon Jet standards. Learning use of drawings, blueprints, Design drawings, and/or spec control prints following Dassault Quality standards. Soft goods include foams, carpets, materials, leathers, and other assorted interior soft goods.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

A Upholstery CNC Operator-I will learn to:

Daily maintenance of machine

Cut straps or pouches

Perform cutting activities in accordance with Dassault Falcon Jet “F” standards.

Fabricate upholstery aircraft parts using Dassault standards of quality.

Comply with Customer Specification / IFS description.

Operate and adjust necessary machinery. Comply with daily maintenance of the machines.

Interpret blueprints, completion drawings, company standards, work instructions, 3D model information.

Perform proper maintenance practices in accordance to DFJ FPS, “F” standards and Quality standards

Correct handling and use of all required tools specific to the current job assignment.

Correct handling and use of all required chemicals and adhesives related to the current job assignment, including general knowledge and ability on retrieving data from the MSDS safety books.

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 1 year experience (or completion of the STEP Program) in upholstery CNC operation

Strong desire to learn and attention to detail

Ability to set up and operate the equipment

Perform at expected standards of safety, quality, schedule and cost.

Work within Engineering and industrial definition using pattern data files, company standards, and work instructions

Select correct materials from Specification, program files, company standards, and work instructions

Must not be allergic to chemical, solvents, paints, adhesives, natural or manmade materials, fabrics, or feathers.

Basic computer skills.

Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Able to work in confined spaces and in unusual positions.

Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation

Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and rework.

Ability to differentiate between colors

Able to stock and remove materials from bins above storage level according to OSHA standards.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Aircraft upholstery fabrication experience

Ability to solve practical problems when needed.

Manufacturing, vocational, tech school training, and/or related college credits.

Computer and/or software training or experience.

Able to work from documentation such as MES, FPS, WI, blueprints, drawings, F-standards, preparation packages, etc.

Courses in state or federal vocational technical upholstery programs

3D model experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Factory/manufacturing environment subject to high noise levels, adhesive or chemical odors, dust, and normal climate control.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the essential job duties operating equipment and tools on a routine basis. Additionally, the duties of this position concern the service and completion of aircraft, and overall airworthiness of the aircraft. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of this employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing safety activities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position typically falls between $22.00 and $25.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for shift differential. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
